Of Dice and Dragons
By the Twisted Hand of Anubis
It was a bitterly cold Monday morning (so much more entrancing these dramas which happen on Monday) and it was therefore no surprise when many students were unable to attend their regularly scheduled classes due to the in habitual temperatures. However, the class was not all absent, as some students were able to find rides to school (or they had procured the use of their own personal helicopter to drop them off). In any case, the teacher was mindlessly babbling away as pencils flew across paper, one completely oblivious to the other’s actions. At this point, one pencil stopped its frantic scribbling as emerald green eyes scanned the room for inspiration, finding none, they turned back to the task at hand, which was a set of schematics for what seemed to be a new dueling arena.
These green eyes belonged to Ryuuji Otogi, he was relatively new at school and owned his own game shop. He even created his own game. At the moment, he was bored out of his mind, too much so to even bother thinking about his new areans.
His formerly abandoned pencil was put to use to some brainless doodling along the side of the paper as Otogi’s eyes darted around the room again, finally coming to rest on another scribbling pen. Intrigued, the doodling pencil was forced to content itself with being twirled in one hand as his green eyes studied the pen, then the hand to which it was attached, with its long elegant fingers. The visual assault continued up the arm, the mind imagining the toned muscle which lay under the blue sleeve; fin finally, the prying eyes had made their way to the face, hidden away through a mess of brown hair. It was obvious the other was frustrated as a free hand practially flew into the brown strands as the other hand frantically scratched out what had just been writtem and decided something better should be written instead.
Hypnotized, Otogi couldn’t help but let his gaze linger, he tried to figure out what was being written which was so important, every word had to be picked with the utmost diligence. As an aside, he also wondered who this mystery author could be. He had only been in Domino a short time and didn’t know many people (and recognized even fewer); although, he could be certain most everyone knew who he was, what with making an ass of himself on international television during his duel with Yugi and all. He unintentionally cringed at THAT thought, he was the undisputed champion of Dungeon Dice Monsters until that pint-sized pipsqueak came along and ruined it all.
Still gazing off into space, Otogi let his anger get the best of him and he subsequently tightened his grip on his pencil until it snapped in two. The loud shattering noise was enough to shake Otogi from his daymare and he found himself staring into two of the bluest eyes he had ever seen. Although it was only a fraction of a second, Otogi felt like he had fallen into those eyes and would continue to fall for the rest of eternity…
But at that precise moment, he brain decided to make a spontaneous reappearance. Now that the mystery author’s face was exposed, it wasn’t too hard to identify just who it was…
