Arrival
There's no sex in this chapter but there will be sex later.
Young Syrus Truesdale just finished his entrance exam to Duel Academy, a special boarding school made for players of the game of duel monsters, just barely passing. Syrus always wanted to attend this school to become a good duelist like his brother Zane but he was never good enough so his parents never agreed. That changed after a certain “incident” at public school. The incident not only hurt Syrus psychologically, making him need therapy, but it also caused his parents to immediately withdraw him from public school and send him to Duel Academy, which promised them that an incident like that would never happen. There was one more student left until the entrance exam is over. A boy who looked around the same age as Syrus, named Jaden Yuki, was quite late to the entrance exam so he was forced to duel one of the teachers for admittance into Duel Academy. Everyone was surprised when this new kid actually won. Now it’s time to get on the plane to Duel Academy. Syrus finds his seat on the plane and quickly sits down. He notices Jaden walking around, looking for his seat. “Let’s see, ah here we go.” Jaden’s seat is right next to Syrus so sits down. “Oh hey. It’s you again.” Syrus looks up. “Hello. Jaden, right?” “Yup. Jaden Yuki. And you are?” “S-Syrus,” Syrus responds. “Syrus Truesdale.” Jaden notices Syrus is trembling slightly. “Hey what’s wrong? You’re shaking.” Syrus blushes upon realizing this. “Oh sorry. Guess I’m just nervous about this school.” The truth is the “incident” from a year ago left Syrus quite untrusting and afraid of other people, especially other guys. “Ok if you say so. So, you’re in the red dorm too hu? How old are ya? I’m 13.” Jaden asks him. “I’m 12,” Syrus smiles. For some reason, he felt comfortable around this guy. He never thought he could feel comfortable around another person again. And he also felt himself blushing when he looks at Jaden’s face. Syrus found himself thinking, ‘This Jaden guy has a cute face.’ Syrus notices that he’s staring so he decides to say something. “So I saw how you defeated Professor Crowler. That was nice. Those elemental heroes are powerful! I would never be able to do that.” It’s Jaden’s turn to blush. “Thanks Sy. Can I call you Sy?” ‘A nickname?’ He wondered. “Sure Jaden.” “Thanks, and you can call me Jay if you want. Some people call me that. Anyways don’t say you couldn’t beat Professor Crowler. You haven’t even tried yet. How do you know you can’t beat him until you try?” “I just have these weak machine monsters. I’m not like my brother. I don’t have those powerful cards he has.” “Who is your brother?” “Zane Truesdale. He’s a senior and he’s very good.” “Really? I’d like to duel him sometime.” This takes Syrus by surprise. “What are you crazy? My big brother would tear you apart!” Jaden smiles. “Still, I wanna try. He sounds like a good challenge.” “But why duel if you know you can’t win?” “You need to learn confidence Sy. How about you stick with me and I’ll help you get that confidence. What do ya say?” Jaden puts his hand on Syrus’ shoulder, which causes him to jump. Jaden quickly takes his hand off. “Oh I’m sorry,” he quickly apologizes. “No it’s ok. It’s just, something happened to me a year ago and I’m still a little jumpy.” Syrus immediately regretted saying that. ‘Dammit why did I say that? Now Jaden’s gonna think I’m a freak!” He couldn’t be more wrong. Jaden is just confused. “What do you mean? What happened?” Syrus looks away and starts to cry softly. Jaden quickly notices this. “No, no. Don’t cry. I’m sorry. I was just curious.” Still crying, Syrus responds, “No it’s ok. Even though I had therapy, it’s still hard to talk about.” Even though Jaden is more curious upon hearing Syrus needed therapy, he decided to drop the subject. “Don’t worry about it. Whatever happened, it’s over now, right?” Syrus dries his tears. “Yea. Thanks Jay.” “No problem.” So what happened to Syrus? We'll find out next chapter.
