Soccer and Love
Chapter 1
Joey was a 16 year old teenager who loved to play soccer and duel monsters. Though the duel monsters tournament was over. He now wanted to focus on his soccer, Joey was the best player in his school. With him in a soccer team he would shoot so many goals that his team would always win. Joey has been asked if he wanted to play professional because many people have had their eye on him.
Joey had deffiently wanted to play professional he loved soccer just as much as he loved duel monsters. However he had a responsibility which he had and it would become before soccer. He had to look after his younger sister all by himself. When his parents split up his sister went with their mother and he went with their father. One day Joey’s father was in a car accident because he was drink driving.
So Joey had to support himself, he moved into a small apartment. He had two jobs just to pay his bills and used what he had left for food. It was quite difficult just to look after himself, then two months later he heard that his mother also passed away. She had a terrible illness and had been fighting it for over two and a half years. Joey never knew she was sick and as Joey and his sister Serenity had no other relatives Joey became Serenity’s guardian.
Even though he loved his sister very much, she was the only family he had left. His sister would always come first. Serenity felt guilty because of her Joey couldn’t play professional soccer. She knew soccer meant the world to Joey besides duel monsters. She would always tell Joey to do what he loves. Of course Joey being the stubborn one as he is he would always tell her that she is his main priority.
One day Joey was having soccer practice and the team players where in partners kicking the ball to each other. Joey’s partner Matt kicked the ball to Joey but unfortunately the ball didn’t go straight to him. So the ball rolled away “I’ll get it” Joey yelled out to his partner, Joey then ran of to get the ball.
The ball kept rolling until it came to a complete stop near someone’s feet. The person picked up the soccer ball and saw Joey running coming to get it. Joey stopped and looked at the person who was holding his ball. The stranger looked around his age maybe a year or two older, he had brown hair and the bluest eyes Joey had ever seen.
“Is this your ball” he asked Joey “uh yes” Joey said back, the guy threw it to Joey and Joey caught it. “You should learn to stop it” the guy told Joey and then started to walk of. “What was that” Joey said with an angry tone. After that comment Joey felt very offended and angry as well. “It is what I said you need to learn how to stop the ball, you’re a terrible player if you cant even do that” he turned around and looked at Joey. “Who do you think you are telling me that, you don’t even know me” Joey told him.
When the guy saw the look on Joey’s face his eyes looked as if they could see right through him. “Hey Joey hurry up will ya” he heard Matt call out. Joey turned around and ran of “sorry about that” Joey said to Matt and kicked it back to him, an hour went by and practice finished.
“Alright good job every one I will see you tomorrow for our soccer game” their coach told the team. Joey went over to the bench to grab his bag and soccer ball that he always took to training with him. Every day after school he would go down to the small soccer field down where he lives to practice shooting. He even did it after soccer training so he would bring his own ball for that reason. “Hey Joey you want to come with me and some of the guys to grab a pizza” Matt asked him. “No thanks I think I might head home and practise some more” Joey told him. “Man you and your practise alright then I will seeya at the game tomorrow” Matt replied and ran off to catch up with the others.
Joey started to walk home but before he got home he would stop at the soccer field like he normally does. When he got their he was relieved that their was no one on the field. He dropped his bag and started to dribble his ball. A black car was driving by and inside was the same guy who Joey saw earlier. His name was Seto Kaiba, he looked out the window and saw Joey doing some more practise. “Stop the car” he told the driver. “Yes sir” the driver then parked the car on the side of the road near the soccer field.
He got out of the car before the driver could open the door for him. Kaiba walked over and stood near the gate watching Joey kick the ball into the goals. Joey kicked the ball and then had to go over to the goals to pick it up. For some reason Joey had intrigued him in some way when they first met. He wasn’t sure why but when Kaiba looked at Joey’s eyes he couldn’t get it out of his head. He had never seen eyes like that they looked as if they could hypnotize someone.
Joey kicked the ball again but this time he had missed instead it hit the pole. ‘I missed how, I have never missed before’ Joey said to himself inside his head. This was the first time Joey had ever missed a goal. Some how Joey’s mind seemed to be else where, he still was angry at what that guy told him. “Huh I will show him, that jerk telling me I’m a terrible player what does he knew anyway” Joey said to no one.
Well that’s what he thought at least, “so I was right you are a terrible player” a voice said. ‘That voice I know it from somewhere’ Joey said to himself, he turned around and saw the same guy who had offended him earlier on.
“What the hell do you want” Joey said straight out “I thought I might give you some pointers” Kaiba told him. “Get lost I don’t need any pointers especially coming from a punk like you” Joey said and turned his back on him “are you afraid” Kaiba asked him. “What would I be afraid of” Joey then asked “that I might be able to block one of your kicks” Kaiba told him. Joey turned around and looked at Kaiba “you block one of my kicks I highly doubt that” Joey said.
“Then you wouldn’t mind me trying then” Kaiba asked him “lets see what you got” Joey replied. Kaiba took of his jacket and rolled his sleeves up, he walked over to the goals and waited for Joey to kick it. Joey placed the ball on the ground in front of him and got ready to kick. “Your going to eat those words you tossed at me today” Joey said to him. “Will see” Kaiba replied, ready for Joey to kick it.
Joey stepped a few feet back he then ran up to the ball and ‘SMACK’ he kicked it. It was so fast that Kaiba didn’t have a chance to catch it. Joey got the goal “see I told you that I’d make you eat those words. “Then do it again and truly prove it to me that you are worthy to call yourself a soccer player” Kaiba told him.
They had kept this up for some time now, Kaiba was able to block only three kicks. Joey soon realised that it was already 6:00pm. “Oh man I should have been home hours ago” Joey said. He grabbed his ball and ran of without even saying goodbye. After all that time they both didn’t even ask each other their names.
