Chapter one-Service with a Smile

Marik’s eyes sparkled with morbid excitement as Bakura held up the last piece of the
Millennium Puzzle. There was a certain unsureness that suddenly filled the air in the candle-lit
livingroom. Marik rested his hand on Bakura’s shoulder and grinned wickedly.

“Just one more piece and the Pharaoh is all yours, Bakura. How does that make you feel?”

Bakura held the final piece above the small yellow flame of the candle and laughed evilly as the
light illuminated its golden hue.

“It’s exhilarating beyond comprehension, Ishtar! In a few moments the pharaoh will be my slave,
I can’t wait to see the look on his pathetic face!”

Marik wiped the drool that was trickling down his chin. He watched on eagerly as Bakura
inserted the last piece of the ancient puzzle into place.

The puzzle instantly began to emit a blinding yellow light, illuminating the faces of the two
rogues hovering over it.

“Yes!” Bakura cackled evilly as the silhouette of the ancient pharaoh began to manifest in front
of him.

“Huh? Where am I? What’s going on!” Yami gasp as he appeared on the livingroom floor
looking horrified.

“Well hello.....pharaoh” Marik laughed evilly.

“Welcome to your new home” Bakura smirked at the bewildered pharaoh.

Yami tried to get up and make a run for it, but he discovered he couldn’t move.

Bakura dangled the Millennium puzzle in Yami’s face and laughed.

“Going so soon? I think not. You see, you drove you’re hikari to the brink of madness, so he
can’t save your sorry ass! Since I won the Millennium Puzzle in a duel..... you’re my toy until I
grow tired of you.”

Yami crimson eyes burned with anger.

“I will never listen to you!” he growled in a stern voice.

Bakura looked back at Marik and rolled his eyes. He turned back to Yami and grinned evilly.

“Yes you will, my pet. You have no other choice!”

Yami lowered his eyes and clenched his fists tightly.

“Drop dead thief!”

“HA! Already did, pharaoh!” Bakura scoffed.

“Encore!” Yami retorted vindictively.

Bakura wanted nothing more than to slap the cocky pharaoh, but the pharaoh was still in spirit
form, which severely limited his options for punishment.

“Marik! Go get me your book of ancient black magic! I must teach this puny little bastard some
manners!”

Marik nodded his head sharply and went running up the stairs.

Bakura kneeled over Yami’s ethereal body and laughed mockingly.

“I hope you’re still feeling as cocky after Marik and I make you pay for all the trouble you have
caused us!”

Yami clenched his fists and glared at the rogue tomb robber.

“You’ll never get away with this!” he snarled.

Marik soon returned carrying an old book with a silver pentagram picture burned into the leather
cover. The words “Diabolus en Magicus

“I know just the spell for you.” Bakura sneered at Yami as he grabbed the book out of Marik’s
hands.

Bakura flipped through the pages until he found exactly what he was looking for.

“This it pharaoh, it’s time for me to show you what pain is all about! Hahaha!”

Yami lowered his eyes at Bakura and tried to look tough.

Bakura read over the page to himself and looked up at Marik. His lips twisted into a sadistic
grin.

“Get me a sharp knife.....the sharper the better. I also need some lighter fluid and a pair of
handcuffs; not the stupid fuzzy pink one’s our hikari’s like to play with either.”

Marik tilted his head back and started to laugh.

“It would be my pleasure.” he cackled evilly as he left the room again.

Bakura turned back to Yami and grinned.

“I’ve been planning this in my mind for a very long time. I suggest you don’t get
comfortable....bitch.”

Yami remained silent. He didn’t like the sound of Bakura’s voice one bit. He could feel a
dark aura filling the candle lit room. He wad asd as Bakura moved the coffee table to the middle
of the room. The tomb robber looked up at the apprehensive pharaoh and grinned.

“It might not be gold, but there’s nothing that says it won’t make a good alter.”

Bakura’s trailing evil laugh sent shivers down Yami’s spine. Fear gripped him as he stared into
the thief’s cold, brown eyes.

Bakura strategically began to place candles from around the room around the “alter.” Marik
walked back into the room carrying a knife, metal handcuffs, and a bottle of lighter fluid. He
handed the items to Bakura, who in turn set them on the makeshift alter next to the book of
spells.

“Good work Marik. You’ll be rewarfor for your services shortly.”

Bakura took the lighter fluid and started squirting it out into a shape on the carpet around the
alter. He picked up a candle after he’d emptied the entire bottle of lighter fluid.

He stalked up to Yami and started to laughed.

“Follow me, bitch.”

Yami glared at the tomb robber and stood still.

“I will not. “ He growled.

Bakura shrugged his shoulders casually.

“Why must you always make things so hard for yourself.” Bakura snapped his fingers and
mumbled some words in ancient Egyptian. A circle of darkness wrapped itself around Yami, and
pulled the struggling pharaoh along with Bakura.

“Don’t bother fighting this pharaoh, you’re powerless now! Hahaha!”

Yami clenched his fists tightly as the dark entity wrapped around him forced him down onto the alter.

“Bastard!” Yami snarled under his breath.

Bakura leaned over and lit the area he’d poured the lighter fluid onto with the candle. Hot orange
flames instantly spread out around them into the shape of a pentagram, and they were in the
center. Bakura looked at Yami and laughed evilly as the dark magic surrounding the pharaoh
yanked him onto his back and secured him to the alter.

Flames danced in Bakura’s eyes as he picked up the knife and looked at his reflection in the
blade.

Yami closed his eyes tightly. He didn’t want to think about what Bakura was going to do next.

He could feel Bakura circling around him like a vulture.

The flames began to die down, and smoke filled the room.

Yami could hear Bakura and Marik reciting a strange sounding chant. He tried to block out their
voices and separating himself from the situation. Yami felt a sudden tingling at tips of his toes
and fingers. The tingling spread up his legs and down his arms. Yami clenched his eyes shut and
screamed as the strange feeling began to burn within his veins like napalm.

Bakura and Marik laughed evilly as the pharaoh convulsed in sheer pain. Sweat dipped down
from his face and into his hair. The pain was so overwhelming that the pharaoh couldn’t take it
any longer. His body went limp as he lost consciousness.

***********

(The next morning)

Yami slowly opened his eyes. His head throbbed and everything was all fuzzy. He sat up
slowly and rubbed his eyes. He felt a cool breeze hit his warm skin as he opened them.

The sun had just began to rise outside, and the chirping of birds chorused through an open
window. Yami looked down and realized he was laying on top the coffee table completely nude .
He couldn’t remember anything, and the reason as to why he was laying on a coffee table
without any clothes on perplexed him.

The scent of smoke lingered in the air. Yami noticed globs of yellowish wax melted into the
singed grey carpeting. Yami gasp when he caught sight of two blood covered lithe bodies
wrapped around each other in a heap on the floor near by. One of them began to move as the sun
crept in and hit his eyes.

“Fuck me......what time is it?” The blond, who was handcuffed to the o, go, groaned.

“It’s time for you to shut the fuck up and go back to sleep!” The other one, who was covered in
the most blood, snapped sharply.

Yami slowly started to recall what had happened the night before. He remembered feeling like
every cell in his body was on fire.

Yami wrapped his arms around himself protectively as the memory send pangs through his heart.

Yami suddenly realized he could actually “feel” himself, literally. It dawned on him that he was
no longer in spirit form, but instead made of flesh and bone. What was going on? How did this
happen?

Yami’s head began to clear up and he remembered Bakura saying he won the Millennium Puzzle
in a duel, and than he and Marik cast some kind of spell. Was this the spell they had cast? Yami
chuckled to himself. What was so bad about having a body?

Marik let out a growl and kicked Bakura in the head.

“Wake up you ugly waste of time! I need you to unlock these handcuffs!”

Bakura clenched his fist and punched Marik in the shin as hard as he could.

“Go to hell. Use your shadow powers or something.”

Marik glared at the half sleeping tomb robber and glanced up at Yami.

“Well well, good morning pharaoh. Sleep well?” Marik grinned.

Bakura sat up at the mention of the pharaoh. He slowly got to his feet and stalked over to Yami.

He reached out and ran his long, snakey fingers down Yami’s chest.

“Ready for your first day of service.....pharaoh?”

Yami glared viciously at Bakura, but didn’t say anything.

Bakura glanced over his shoulder at Marik. “I think we need a bath Marik, don’t you?”

Bakura picked up a set of key that were laying under the coffee table and walked back over to
Marik. He unlocked the Egyptian’s wrists and walked with him back over to Yami.

“The first thing you’ll do pharaoh, is go upstairs and run some bath water. We’ll meet you up
there in a few minutes.”

Yami crossed his arms.

“And if I refuse?”

Marik grinned at Bakura evilly as he picked up the knife laying on the floor nearby.

Bakura wrapped his arms tightly around Yami and Marik held the knife to his throat.

“You will die, as will your puny hikari. So don’t even think of disobeying, you little runt.”

“I suggest you do as we say.” Bakura hissed evilly into the pharaoh’s ear.

Yami bit down on his bottom lip and growled. He reluctantly got up and headed upstairs to run
the rogues a bath.

Marik and Bakura laughed evilly together as they watched the humbled pharaoh do as they said.

“Don’t forget to smile, pharaoh!” Marik called out mockingly.

Bakura licked some blood seeping from the corner of his mouth and chuckled.

“29 more days of this Marik.........we’re going to have so much fun with our new pet!”

Marik nodded his head.

“Yes, I’m sure we will. I think we should buy him a new collar......perhaps a leash too.”

Bakura’s eyes lit up with anticipation.

“The pharaoh is going to see you and I in a whole new light once we’re through with
him.....HAHAHA!”
