Zypher Dragon: Ok I’m going to start a new story for all of you (mostly I always dream of these stories before I write them ^^;)

Yugi: The warnings are shounen-ai maybe a little yaoi somewhere in the story and the fic is an AU based on the first set of parings and everyone’s favorite, Anzu bashing.

Ryou: Parings are Espio/Diamond, Charmy/Yugi, Ryou/Shadow, Vector/Jou and Kaiser/Tails at first and you, the reviewers, can choose where the pairings should switch to Yami/Yugi/Aqua, Seto/Jou, Diamond/Crimson and Ryou/Bakura later in the story.

Fight for Love


Prologue

One day in small town with a large castle placed in the middle, a tournament of great knights was held. Three winners would choose a person from the town to keep as their own. When Diamond, Yugi, Ryou, Kaiser and Jou were chosen by the three winners (Yami, Seto and Bakura with Crimson, Ruby and Aqua), they run away into the forest only to meet up with Espio, Charmy and Vector. Will love blossom between them or will the knights take what’s rightfully theirs.

Chapter 1

In the small town of Domino, the tournament honoring the best knights has started. The best knight from different towns has come to see or enter the tournament. The large pounding of hooves came into the town and the supreme black knight made his way through the crowd of people.

Once he and his sphinx made it up to the familiar tavern they would come to whenever they come to Domino, they got off their black steed and went inside. He took off his helmet, silver-white hair flowing down his back as he and his sphinx went up to the bar. The bartender, being a close friend to the black knight and his sphinx, came up to t “Wh “What will it be this time Bakura, Crimson?” the bartender asked. “The usual for both of us.” Bakura said.

The bartender nodded and went into the back to get the liquor Bakura and Crimson wanted. Bakura looked around the near empty bar and then spotted a beautiful being cleaning one side of the room with a white sphinx that Crimson himself was captivated in. The person and sphinx themselves look almost like an exact copy of him and Crimson except the boy had softer features and the sphinx had white fur and clear dark blue eyes when he got a glance at them.

When the bartender came back with Bakura and Crimson’s drinks he saw then looking at the tavern cleaning servants. “Ah, I see you have taking a liking to my servants, Ryou and Diamond, hmm?” The bartender asked, placing the drinks on the counter. He nodded. “Yes, I have taking a big liking to the one that looks like me, if I win this tournament I want him and Crimson will have the white sphinx, ok.” Bakura said, giving a cold glare at the bartender if hees tes to disagree.

The bartender nodded, still afraid of disagreeing with Bakura when he or Crimson make a demand. Once they finished their drinks, they took one more look at Ryou and Diamond who left to go to the back room before they left to go to the tournament, knowing that the two back at the tavern will be theirs.

Before the tournament took place at the town square, Yugi, Jou and Kaiser went up to the tavern and asked the bartender if Ryou and Diamond can take a break so they can go to the tournament with them. The bartender nodded, knowing that Ryou and Diamond might not come back after the tournament is over and once they came out they left to go to town square.

Once they got to town square, the tournament was getting close to starting so Yugi and his friends went to get closer to the jousting grounds. Yami and his dragon Aqua watched the gathering crowith ith little interest until that is Yami spotted the most beautiful boy he had see in this whole town.

The resemblance was close but his amethyst eyes differ from his own crimson eyes is what caught his attention and knowing he and Aqua will be one of the winners of this tournament, he will have the boy as his own. Seto and his sphinx Ruby standoff off to another side of the jousting grounds also spotted Yugi and his friends but they too were captivated by Jou and Kaiser who helped Yugi see the grounds better since he was a bit short for a boy of 16.

(since I’m not good with jousting scenes, the tournament has already ended and Bakura, Yami and Seto was the winners)

“Now here are our winners for this years tournament, the Black Knight Bakura and his sphinx Crimson, Dragon Knight Seto and his sphinx Ruby and Yami the Dark Knight with his dragon Aqua.” The judge of the tournament announced and everyone there cheered for their victory in the tournament.

“Now that you have won the tournament you three may choose someone from the town to take with you back to your own town” the judge said and they nodded. “First, Bakura,” Bakura looked in the crowd until he spotted the boy he saw in the tavern and smirked pointing to him and he gasped lightly being picked. “Ok, now Yami,” Yami looked for the tri haired boy and pointed to him when he saw him in the crowd. “And last Seto.” Seto took no time to find Jou and pointed to him.

“They have chosen their traveling mates, the three that have been chosen please meet up at the front gate before nightfall.” The judge said before he left the small balcony stage in front of the jousting ground as everyone started to leave their or stayed ar to to shop for anything that they needed before they left.

“But I don’t want to be separated from you guys, I want to stay here with you guys.” Yugi said as he and his friends walked up to the gates. “I know, we don’t want to leave you either Yugi but there’s no way how we can avoid this now, they chosen us and we minus well go with them.” Diamond said. “But their could be a way.” Kaiser said, looking to the forest right of the gates.

“And what would that be?” Jou asked. “How about we go into the Illusion Forest, if we can get through that then we can live in the next town and avoid going with the knights.” Kaiser said. Jou thought about it then nodded. “It’s worth a shot, let get as much as we can carry like food, water and some blankets then we can head there before it get dark and the knights come looking for us.” Jou said and they nodded, hoping their plan will work but they never noticed the ocean blue eyes watching them from the shadows of one of the homes in the square.

‘ So their trying to escape, well if Yugi’s out of the picture that might just make that dark knight go look for someone else and that person will be me.’ The girl in the shadows thought then left to go to the gates.

“Ok, are you guys ready?” Jou asked, holding a knapsack. “Yeah, we’re ready.” Yugi said, holding his own knapsack. “Ok, Yugi you ride with me and Ryou you ride with Diamond.” Jou said and they nodded, Ryou getting on a horse behind Diamond and Yugi getting on Kaiser’s back with Jou.

They galloped out of the town, heading down to the Illusion Forest just as the girl reached the knights who were a bit impatient on where their traveling mates were. “Um, excuse me?” the girl asked. “Who are you?” Bakura demanded. “I’m Masaki Anzu.” Anzu said. “Ok then, why are you here?” Yami said. “Well, the boy you chose after the tournament, why did you choose him out of all people, I mean you could have chose someone like me maybe.” Anzu said and Aqua snorted.

“Well it’s so obvious, the boy’s cute unlike you and we rather have him as a lover and maybe even a husband once we get back to our town but first we need to find out where he is so don’t bug us girl.” Aqua said, getting on all fours and let Yami get on his back, Ruby and Crimson doing the same and galloped into the town bent on finding the three that they chosen.

‘Oh, just because Yugi’s cute doesn’t mean nothing, I will be with that knight and become his wife even if it resolves in me going to the witch sphinx Crystal.’ Anzu psed sed in his mind as she started to walk to the Illusion Forest, bent on taking Yugi out of the picture but first she followed the knights again before making her plans to go after Yugi.

Once they reached the entrance of the forest, Diamond got off the horse, helping Ryou down as the horse galloped back to the town as Jou and Yugi got off Kaiser’s back. “Well, we’re here now what should we do?” Yugi said, a bit scared from the rumors he heard about the forest from other kids back in Domino when he went shopping in the square.

“We have to figure out a way how to get through the forest since rumors say that the forest switches paths making it harder to reach the other side and there are weird creatures that live here also.” Diamond said as she started walking in, Ryou, Yugi, Jou and Kaiser following behind her.

Espio, a purple humanoid chameleon, was resting in a tree, normally suppose to be on guard duty but since there’s not many people who would venture into the forest he thought it would be a good idea to get some rest that is until Vector showed up. “Hey Espio, you’re supposed to be on guard duty!” Vector shouted up to him, waking him up from his light doze. Vector here is a humanoid crocodile who is friends with Espio, he, Espio and a humanoid bee named Charmy was part of a band that played in the local tavern in the small forest town called Emerald Shore.

“Ah, why did you have to wake me up Vector, there’s not many people from the other villages who would come into the forest so there’s not really a reason to guard the entrance.” Espio said, jumping from the branch he was on and landed in front of Vector. “So, we get paid for this so we minus well do our job, remember our policy Espio.” Vector said before he went silent, hearing voices coming near them and pulled Espio into a bush nearby.

“Are you sure this is the right way Jou?” Yugi asked the blond boy next to him, catching Vector’s attention. “I’m sure it is, this was the only path that I could find.” Jou said. Vector was fascinated with Jou and was tempted to introduced himself but he didn’t want to scare him or his friends into the forest where they could be lost forever so he kept quiet.

“Ok as long as you’re sure but we need to stop soon, its getting dark and with the way this forest is, we can lose each other easily in the darkness.” Diamond said. Now here, Espio was intrigued with Diamond and he too wanted to introduce himself with the white beauty but didn’t want to scare her off.

“What should we do Vector, we can’t leave them alone in the forest, there are other people who would kill them.” Espio said, worried for Diamond and doesn’t want her to get killed, as they say love at first sight. “I know, I know, once they go to sleep, we’ll take them back to the village and since we don’t have much room in our homes, we’ll take the white-haired boy to Shadow, the golden blonde sphinx to Tails and the tri-haired boy to Charmy.” Vector said.

Espio nodded and after a few minutes, Ryou, Jou, Yugi, Kaiser and Diamond fell asleep on the meager blankets they had brought and both Vector and Espio brought them back to their village, bringing their knapsacks with them. Once they came to the village, they went to Shadow’s home first. He opened the door and smiled at Espio and Vector.

“What brings you two here.” Shadow asked. “Well, we found this group of teens close to the entrance of the forest and we just couldn’t leave them there to get killed so we brought them back and since we didn’t have much room in our own homes so we planning on letting them stay somewhere else until tomorrow.” Espio explained.

Shadow nodded and took the white-haired boy from Vector. “I’ll take him inside, when he wakes up tomorrow I’ll explain to him what happened.” Shadow said and they nodded, leaving Shadow’s house and went over to Tails house, giving the same explanation to him and he agreed to take care of Kaiser for them. Then they went to Charmy’s house but things didn’t go as well as with Shadow and Tails.

“Ooo, who are your friends Vector!” Charmy said excitedly. Vector shook his head and looked down to Charmy. “Their not really our friends yet Charmy, we’re just bringing them over to our friends house til tomorrow so we can explained where they are and what happened so were bringing the small boy over here and please for goodness sake don’t scare him to death tomorrow until we come over.” Vector said and gave Yugi over to Charmy who squealed with joy. “Yay! I have another friend!” Charmy yelled.

“Not so loud Charmy! Don’t wake him up.” Espio said and he nodded before taking Yugi back inside. Espio and Vector left to go to their own homes and gave once last wave before the split paths and went home.

(I was going to end it here but I’ll guess I’ll go on a bit more)

Diamond woke up the next morning in a comfortable bed and then noticed she was in a different place than the forest floor and she looked around the vacant room and got up as the door opened. “Oh, you’re awake.” Espio said quietly not wanting to scare her. “Oh, um yes, where am I and where are my friends?” she asked him. “Your at the secret town of Illusion Forest, Emerald Shore and your friends are currently staying at one of my friends homes and were going over to Charmy’s to explain what happened last night.”

“Ok, that would be nice, now if only I known your name, my name’s Diamond by the way.” She said. ‘Diamond, what a beautiful name for such a beautiful girl.’ Espio thought and then he nodded, smiling. “My name is Espio.” He said and Diamond smiled. “It’s nice to meet you Espio.” “As it is a pleasure to meet you too Diamond.” Espio said then looked outside. “Well, we better get going, my friends should be going to Charmy’s house soon.” Espio explained and she nodded once more before getting up and followed Espio.

Over at Shadow’s, Ryou woke up in Shadow’s bed with no sign of Shadow anywhere in the room, so he got up and went to see if anyone lived here and was surprised when the door opened and Shadow came in with some fruit for him. “Oh I’m sorry, didn’t mean to surprise you.” Shadow said and Ryou nodded.

“It’s ok I was just surprised to see someone like you, no offense or anything but the only humanoid animals that I have seen were sphinxes and dragons but nothing like you before.” Ryou explained and Shadow nodded, placing the bowl of fruit on the nightstand next to the bed. “Yes, well we never had many humans like you and your friends to come through the forest and my friend Vector thought it was a good idea to bring you back to our village.” Shadow said.

“Oh thank you, and if I’m not able to meet your friend Vector, thank him for me.” Ryou said with a smile. ‘Everything about this boy is so captivating, I’m think I’m in love with him but I can’t tell him just yet.’ Shadow thought. “Well you must want to go see your friends so how about you have breakfast then we can head over to Charmy’s house to explain everything.” Shadow said. “Ok.” Ryou said and he took the bowl from the nightstand and ate the sweet fruit.

Over at Vector’s, Vector sat in the room with Jou, waiting for him to wake up. Once he did, he smiled slightly. Jou looked around and when he spotted Vector, he got scared. “Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you.” Vector said and that calmed Jou down a bit. “Well, that was scary seeing you there but since you said you won’t hurt me I guess I’ll trust you.” Jou said and Vector nodded.

“So where am I?” Jou asked. “You’re in the village of Illusion Forest, Emerald Shore.” Vector said. “How’d I get here?” Jou asked again. “Well, I came to check up on my friend Espio to see if he was doing his guard duty then I heard you and your friends voices in the forest so me and Espio kept hidden and when you and your friends went to sleep, we couldn’t leave you and your friends in the forest since you could’ve got killed so we brought you guys back here and your friends are staying at one of my friends houses and we’re going to meet up at Charmy’s.” Vector explained and Jou nodded.

“Ok, well my name’s Jounouchi but everyone calls me Jou.” He said and Vector smiled. “The name’s Vector.” Jou smiled. “ Nice to meet you Vector.” “Likewise.” They shook hands. ‘His hand is so soft, wonder if his lips are the same. Too bad he might not love me like I love him so that’s out of the question.’ Vector thought before he looked back to Jou.

“Well, we better head over to Charmy’s so we can explain everything.” Vector said getting up. Jou nodded and got up from the bed and followed Vector over to Charmy’s. In Tails home, Kaiser woke up in Tails room, Tails sleeping on the floor next to him and he looked down to him. ‘Cute little guy, too bad I need to wake him up and figure out where I am and where my friends are.’ Kaiser thought and tapped Tails shoulder gently, waking him up.

“Oh, I’m sorry, didn’t meant to fall asleep on you.” Tails apologized. “Nah, it’s ok, I just woke up anyway. So where am I.” Kaiser asked. Tails got up from his position on the floor, surprising Kaiser a bit when his two tails showed. “You’re in the small town Emerald Shore that’s located in the middle of Illusion Forest.” Tails explained then looked outside. “Oh my, we’re going to be late, everything you need to know will be explained to you once we get to my friend Charmy’s house, let’s go.” Tails said and Kaiser nodded, following Tails to Charmy’s.

“What do you mean you haven’t found them yet!!” Yami yelled to the guards the king hired to find Yugi, Jou, Diamond, Kaiser and Ryou. “There no where in town, me and my men looked throughout the whole town and there’s no sign of them anywhere.” The leader said, scared of the Dark knight’s wrath, including the Dragon and Black knights as well.

“Well then look harder!!! We want them and we want them NOW!!!” Yami yelled once more, dark energy gathering around him as the guards scurried out of the tavern and his anger went down a notch and he sat at the shared table with the other two knights. “Man, how could we have lost them, I mean they should have came to the gate like they were suppose to and yet they didn’t come.” Aqua said.

“Maybe they didn’t want to come with-” Crimson started but was hit on the back of the head by Seto. “They will come with us, they just might not want to get separated, they are friends after all.” Seto said. Crimson rubbed the back of his head, glaring at Seto but he did have to agree with him. “But then what will we do until those excuse for guards find them?” Crimson asked.

“We’ll just have to stay at the local inn until we hear anything from the guards about our travel mates.” Ruby said and they nodded, walking out of the tavern and gone to the inn to get some rooms for a few nights unaware of Anzu watching them. ‘Hmm, so those pathetic excuse for guards can find them, well as long as they keep away from Illusion Forest, Yami and Aqua will be mine and Yugi won’t be able to do anything to stop since him and his friends might be dead by now.’ Anzu thought evilly before going over to the inn to see Yami and Aqua again.

When they reached Charmy’s house, they went inside and saw Yugi playing with Charmy, laughing. “Well, it seems Charmy found a new playmate.” Shadow said and everyone else except for Ryou, Diamond, Jou and Kaiser nodded. “Hey Charmy, we’re here!” Vector yelled and Charmy turned around before flying over and tackling Vector to the ground.

“Yay! You’re here, you’re here!” Charmy said excitedly and everyone laughed before Vector picked himself up and carried Charmy under his arm as he and everyone else followed him in the living room. They all sat down and Charmy flew over to Yugi, sitting on his head making him giggle a bit.

“Well, you guys deserve an explanation I presume.” Espio said and they nodded. “Well, first off, it take a long while for people to actually find this town, that why it so secret, and as for the town itself, none of us don’t know exactly how it came to be, humanoid animals like me, Vector, Charmy, Shadow and Tails came to live here once we figured out the secret of the forest’s paths so if someone like you guys was to venture in the forest without trying to escape with gold and jewels from a nearby town then we’re nice enough to bring that person or people here to heal or rest for a bit until we lead them to Shiguma, the next town at the other end of the forest.” Espio explained.

“Now that you know a bit of about us, what cause you guys to come into the forest?” Shadow asked. “Well, I don’t know if you heard about it, but every year in the town there’s a tournament where the best knights come to compete in. When a choice of 1 to 3 winners win the tournament they can take one person from the town and bring him or her back with them and today was the yearly tournament in Domino and me and my friends were chosen by the Dark, Black and Dragon knights and since we didn’t want to get split up we ran away and came in through the forest hoping to reach Shiguma.” Yugi explained.

“Hmm, well then you can live here with us if you like, since Shiguma might not be the best place to go as of yet, it’s going into a famine right now so it might be best if you stay here.” Tails said and they nodded. “Ok, and also it will keep us a secret from those knights that might be looking for us now.” Kaiser said.

But he didn’t know how right he was.

Zypher Dragon: Well, that the end of the first chapter, please review.

Yugi: and since you might not have heard of a few of these character from Sonic Heroes, Zypher will give you a description of them:

Espio the Chameleon: A chameleon with special ninja skills including Leaf Swirl which can help him become invisible and go keep an eye on people who would come into the Illusion Forest without them knowing.

Vector the Crocodile: A crocodile that uses his strength to take out enemies in the forest and also his strength helps with people around the village as long as he can get a good pay out of it.

Charmy Bee: A happy-go-lucky bee that flying skills match up to Diamond. He s always happy but at some occasion he can be serious especially when it comes to his friends.

Shadow the Hedgehog: (I might not have to explain him but I will do it anyway) A hedgehog with amazing speed to confuse his enemies and using his speed to his advantage makes him a great guard to the forest.

Tails: A two tailed fox also having flying skills matching Diamond’s. He uses his skills in order to help guard the entrance to the forest with Charmy and like Charmy, can be serious at times.
