i'm loving that you're writing out Ryou and Bakura's side of canon. and that you're working them so realistically!

i love that Bakura's coming across alot more like the Thief King than the 4kids Yami. he's more suave and confident, playing up to Ryou's hidden desires like this. and Ryou... it's amazing to find anybody write him as canon - any of the formats or translations! why anyone thinks he's so sweet and innocent boggles my mind.

your explanation for the two souls, two bodies really works too. i'm not usually one for the reincarnation theory, but you've given a very plausible explanation for it.

Another very enjoyable chapter. I like how reckless Bakura is as he manipulates Ryou. And how Ryou isn't perfectly innocent and pure. And how he gives into his many temptations...

Anywho, I'm loving this story so much, and I love how you made Bakura's lines so suggestive and yet not like in the translation. That, and the meeting between Ryou and Bakura, the "giving" of his name, everything that was left in ambiguity in the series that you filled in here seems perfect, and not to mention makes much more sense. I'm keeping a close watch on this story now, so please to keep writing? =D

This story seems interesting. I've never read the manga, I'm afraid. I don't have the money to buy them all, and I'm not too fond of reading graphic novels online because it tends to hurt my eyes. I'm sure I won't be bothered by any of the differences from the anime, though.

I'd always wished I'd gotten to see more of Ryou in the show. I thought he, and his relationship with Bakura, was intriguing. More so than the other characters, at least to me. That's probably why I read so much fanfiction starring them nowadays. If Ryou were more fleshed out in the manga though, I'd definitely consider hunting down scans, my eyes be damned.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop in and give you your first review for this story, and encourage you to continue. Not many stories I've seen feature their first meeting (at least not well, as far as I've seen), and I think you've managed to portray it in a believable way so far. I'll keep an eye out for the next update. I'm excited to find out what will happen next!

You make a solid point with regards to appearance of the yamis
in the present in contrast to their previous past-life appearance.
I like that you've taken that, ran with and made it your own.
I'm interested to see where this goes. God knows I haven't read
a yugioh story in years. I swore myself off from this section but hey
I'll come back just to read this.

Don't worry about the whole "Ryou has brown eyes" thing. Blue isn't even close to the worst color I've seen his eyes described as. It's when they start turning yellow or purple that I get annoyed. (or pink. Worst. Fanfiction. Ever.)
