Oh yeah! I remember the seen where he runs to the bathroom and rips his shirt off to see the ring buried in his flesh. Heh heh, that was the only fanservice of Ryou were ever got, and it was quite disappointing. Didn't Jounochi also make a few "runs" jokes off of that?

I must say, this is a much more realistic take on Ryou and his experience/interaction with the spirit of the ring than all of those 'he was a lost lamb full of fluffy innocence all the time, untouched purity' fics that are floating around in cyber-space. Thank you so much for posting this, please continue to do so when you have the opportunity! (random note: I liked Ryou's green eyes from season zero....)

Sw~eet! I'm happy that the sub-plot of the ring being taken was resolved in this chapter. That would have been the worst cliffhanger ever!

I am beyond thrilled. All the details you give us speak so much about the characters' personality; the charred pizza, the wording of the father's letter, the fear of the first day of school to come.

Even better than the previous chapter. I adore, adore, adore the gradual interaction building up between the vessel and his host, the perfect encounter Ryou has with the Sennen Puzzle, your depictions of his physical pain and how for most of the day, he cannot understand what the spirit is telling him.
Also, I think it's awesome how you use boldface, no quotation marks to indicate the spirit's dialogue. Brilliant.
